چکیده

We discuss the correlation function of hadronic currents in the Schwinger model at finite temperature T. We explicitly construct the retarded correlator in real time and obtain analytical results for the Euclidean correlator on a torus. Both constructions lead to the same finite temperature spectral function. The spatial screening lengths in the mesonic channels are related to the dynamical meson mass m = e/ √ π and not 2πT even in the infinite temperature limit. The relevance of our results for the finite temperature problem in four dimensions is discussed.

Schwinger-Keldysh Propagators from AdS/CFT Correspondence

We demonstrate how to compute real-time Green’s functions for a class of finite temperature field theories from their AdS gravity duals. In particular, we reproduce the 2× 2 SchwingerKeldysh matrix propagator from a gravity calculation. Our methods should work also for computing higher point Lorentzian signature correlators. We elucidate the boundary condition subtleties which hampered previous...

Finite Temperature Schwinger Model with Chirality Breaking Boundary Conditions

The Nf -flavour Schwinger Model on a finite space 0 ≤ x ≤ L and subject to bag-type boundary-conditions at x = 0 und x = L is solved at finite temperature T = 1/β. The boundary conditions depend on a real parameter θ and break the axial flavour symmetry. We argue that this approach is more appropriate to study the broken phases than introducing small quark masses, since all calculations can be ...

Correlation Functions in the Schwinger Model at Zero and Finite Temperature

The general correlations between massless fermions are calculated in the Schwinger model at arbitrary temperature. The zero temperature calculations on the plane are reviewed and clarified. Then the finite temperature fermionic Green's function is computed and the results on the torus are compared to those on the plane. It is concluded that a simpler way to calculate the finite temperature resu...

Field strength correlators in the instanton gas : The importance of the two – instanton contribution

The field strength correlators at zero temperature are semi-classically evaluated fitting the random instanton liquid model to lattice data for quenched SU(3) lattice gauge theory. We restrict ourselves to the lowest order in an instanton density expansion necessary to explain the difference between D⊥ and D||. In the instanton–instanton and instanton–antiinstanton contributions the Schwinger l...

Correlation Functions in the XXO Heisenberg Chain and their Relations with Spectral Shapes

The spectral shape of one dimensional systems (describing for instance the behaviour of Frenkel excitons) is approached through the exactly solvable model of XXO Heisenberg quantum spin chain in a transverse magnetic field. Some results for finite size chains concerning 2N-point correlators are presented in details. In particular the finite lattice, finite temperature 2-point correlators are ex...
